Is math struggle why your child doesn't love learning? Whether it’s fractions, equations, or other concepts, I help kids master tricky topics through stories, hands-on materials, and personalized support that builds confidence and executive function.
As a Montessori teacher, I follow the child’s lead. My 1:1 tutoring sessions are completely personalized based on each child’s needs, so topics may vary greatly from one session to another.
Like a dentist finding hidden cavities, I specialize in identifying knowledge gaps that cause confusion and hinder a brilliant, hard-working child from solidifying a tricky concept. When a child understands the big picture, all the pieces start falling into place. This is how I turn “😩 I suck at math” into “😏 I GOT this!”
My tutoring sessions incorporate hands-on materials and engaging stories to help students manipulate concrete ideas before tackling abstract concepts. This interactive style is particularly beneficial for children requiring a different approach to math, including those with ADHD or executive function challenges.
Children having two weekly sessions can expect around 1-2 hours of extra practice assignments.

In-Depth Math Assessment
When I start working with a new student, I want to give them the best support possible. For this, I need to see where they are in their learning journey. This is why, in our first sessions together, I assess all my new tutoring students. The assessment shows me:

This thorough evaluation provides essential insights into your child’s understanding of math. For instance, a student struggling with long division might be dealing with gaps in subtraction, place value, or even organization that are hindering their ability to progress. Knowing where your child is allows me to plan the best route to take them where they want to be.
I design assessments to be a non-judgmental experience. I make it clear to your child that it is about understanding where they are and NEVER about criticism.

Neurodivergence Specialization and Accommodations:
Tutoring sessions can be geared toward any learner type—from those who need remediation and extra help to those who simply want to extend their learning. The Montessori methodology is multisensory in nature, and with several years of teaching experience, I am well-versed in creating adaptations on the spot to improve the child’s learning experience. Some of the accommodations I can provide include:
ADHD: Hands-on activities, sensory-friendly materials, flexible schedules, chunked content, step-by-step instructions (verbal and visual), interactive activities, frequent breaks, visual schedules, and organizational support.
Gifted: Advanced curriculum, differentiated instruction, and opportunities to extend learning outside tutoring sessions.
Math Anxiety: Supportive communication, brain warm-up games, step-by-step instructions (verbal and visual), flexible deadlines, a calm learning environment, and personalized feedback.
Dyslexia: Organizational instruction, dyslexia-friendly fonts, recording booklets, and flexible timing.
I firmly believe that kids need to feel good to do good. If a child is dysregulated, the priority becomes helping them find regulation before any learning can happen. Sometimes, this is the most significant learning a neurodiverse child can experience!

During the school year, I am usually available Monday-Friday during the evenings and Saturday mornings.
Starting June 16, 2025 I'll have a couple of spots opening up Monday-Friday in the mornings. These will be available only during the summer.

Upon booking, you’ll receive an email with the Zoom link to the meeting and another link that will allow you to manage your appointment. If you purchased a multi-session package, you will receive an email with the codes and instructions to book the rest of the sessions.
Your confirmation email will also contain a link for an intake form with questions to help me prepare to best meet your child’s needs.
All tutoring sessions are 1:1. Your first session will almost always be an in-depth assessment (read more about it above) to further personalize all the rest of the lessons to what your child needs.
